Aurora, founded in 1919 in Turin, was the first Italian fountain pen factory.

The name, chosen immediately after the First World War, reflected the hope for a better future and a new beginning for handwriting in Italy (“aurora” is Italian for “dawn”).

The original factory, which was bombed in the 1940s, was in Via della Basilica, in the city centre. Today, Aurora has its headquarters in a building that is part of the historic Abbadia di Stura complex, in Turin.

In almost 100 years of business, Aurora has written some of the most important pages in the history of writing. Its small masterpieces reflect the company’s values, like devoting time to things that are truly important: thoughts, beauty, culture.

Aurora pens are conceived as authentic hand-crafted jewels. Today, as in the past, they embody fine craftsmanship combined with technology and the use of precious materials, always with an eye to changes in taste and fashion, borne out by Aurora’s ongoing partnerships with internationally acclaimed designers.
